300 years before the present day in the series, Earth was rained upon by destructive meteorites. The meteor shower was like none that had ever been recorded. Some meteorites were large enough to wipe out entire cities, some were not as destructive but still managed to take out power lines, satellites, and communications towers.
Some humans were lucky enough to find shelter, but most were not as fortunate. In North America, 1.5 million people survived. Statistics of the other continents were unknown, as all communications systems had come apart. Expeditions that were planned to other continents resulted in failure. The coastlines of the other continents could not be found, and the survivors didn’t want to use any more resources at the time.
The Aether Dancer is an delivery Airship. Her crew travel North America, delivering goods, transporting people, and exploring a continent whose governments and geography are vastly different from what we know today.
